Hi — I'm Sky Lu, and I build BestAIFinds on my own.

It started with a small, recurring annoyance. Every time I needed to do one quick thing with a file — get a PDF under an email size limit, open a .heicsomeone sent, turn a screen recording into a GIF — I had two bad options: install a command-line tool I'd use exactly once, or paste a maybe-confidential file into the first "free converter" Google handed me.

I didn't love either. So I started building a third option, one tool at a time. Today it's 240+ free tools for the boring file chores — PDF, image, video, and text — with two rules I actually care about.

Your files stay yours

Most of the image and PDF tools run entirely in your browser — the file is never uploaded. Don't take my word for it: open your browser's Network tab and watch nothing leave your machine. The few tools that genuinely need a server (video, HEIC decoding, heavy PDF compression) say so up front, and the file is deleted right after processing.

No signup, no paywall to use a tool

You shouldn't have to make an account to compress one PDF. The browser-based tools (PDF editing, image processing, file conversion) are completely free with no daily limits. The AI-powered tools have generous free daily limits, with an optional Pro plan only if you want unlimited use.

I'm one person, so it's far from perfect — but that also means when something's broken or missing, you can tell me and I'll actually read it. If there's a file chore you do all the time that I haven't built yet, that's exactly how I decide what to build next.
